JOEL. P. HENNING
Founding Partner [1939-2001]

Joel Henning’s philosophies and teachings were based on more than 30 years of being engaged in complex, long-term organizational change efforts. His work spanned a broad range of organizations from public school systems facing desegregation to reinventing the future of large corporations in the face of changing marketplaces and increased competition.

Through his work with a wide array of diverse clients, he came to the conclusion that an organization's ability to navigate change successfully is determined by its willingness to develop individuals through the intentional distribution of power – business literacy, choice and accountability. He wrote about these views in The Future of Staff Groups: Daring to Distribute Power and Capacity published by Berrett-Koehler.

Joel passed away unexpectedly in May of 2001. henning-showkeir & associates and his book are part of his legacy to the work about which he cared deeply and to the clients he loved dearly.

"TRUE": A tribute to Joel Henning by his friend David Whyte, a consultant and an internationally acclaimed poet.
